Reviving Mu*Zine

This long-dormant blog may soon be revived. An interesting recent year has got me thinking more about museum issues. Some upcoming thoughts to explore:

-Graduate Museum Studies programs and undergraduate majors seem to be increasing exponentially. Where are all these graduates going to work? Will the field be able to meet their expectations for income and leadership opportunity? How important is specialized academic training?
-Are museums necessary? The luxury argument, and my attempt at counterargument.
-Intangible results - insisting that it ain't all in the numbers.
-The Boomer effect - will Generation X ever lead major museums, or will do-gooder retirees take all our jobs until they die and milennials take over?
-Multiple intelligences - can we get more sophisticated about learning theory already?
-Embedded labeling: it's cool
-Cary Carson's Plan B article - is it TV that's really responsible for our need to see ourselves at the center?
-Why are museums, particularly history museums, so tech-averse?
